What is Waverley Community Connects?

Waverley Community Connects is a community led project  supporting local community engagement with developments on Orgreave and Waverley. The project ends in December 2006.

Waverley Community Connects 2004-2006

Waverley Community Connects 2004-6 has been a 3 year project  supporting local community engagement with both the plans for Orgreave and the economic developments at the Advanced Manufacturing Park on the Waverley site next to the Parkway in Rotherham.  The project has been funded by Objective 1 and the Coalfield Regeneration Trust. A summary of major  initiatives undertaken by Waverley Community Connects during 2004-6 are here. (pdf file) Waverley Community Connects comes to an end in December 2006.

The project strengthened the links between our communities and both the developers and businesses on site. Two staff were employed by Treeton Community Partnership (a full-time Community Links Officer and a part-time Administration and Support Officer) and a  community led steering group manages the project. This group includes representatives from the Parish Councils, community groups and local community partnerships in the Rother Valley West and  east Sheffield.
